Villiers String Quartet – End of an Era!
23.02-1218: The Villiers String Quartet are in their final year of the Radcliffe chamber music residency at the Faculty of Music. They are playing their final performances at the Holywell Music Room so now is a great time to enjoy the boundless melody of their musical talents in this lovely venue.
The programme includes: Mendelssohn String quartet no. 6 op. 80
Beethoven Razumovsky quartets op. 59 nos. 1, 2 and 3
Parry String quartet no. 3
There will be interval drinks and a post-concert reception.

Chinese New Year Spectacular
26.02.18: Chinese New Year celebrations have already started but you can join in on the 26th of February with the Chinese New Year Festival Show. The Confucius Institute and Oxford Brookes University is welcoming in the Year of the Dog with displays of Chinese dance, acrobatics, and martial arts. You can see death defying stunts, impossibly flexible contortionists, the star attraction: Lion Dance.
A dazzling display of centuries of Chinese culture for all the family.

Sung Latin Mass
04:03:18: Dorchester Abbey, founded in the ‘Dark Ages’ is the venue for the Thames Consort choir to sing a Latin Mass. They’ll be singing Palestrina, Missa Tu es Petrus, and Tallis. The Dorchester Abbey is a great setting for this tribute to our musical heritage The Dorchester Team Clergy will Celebrate the Mass at George Gilbert Scott’s High Altar. The event starts at 6:00 pm and is open to all.

No Such Thing as A Fish
07.03.18: One of Oxford’s favourite TV shows QI comes to the Oxford Playhouse stage on the 7th March. A midweek night out with four fact-finding elves (or more accurately researchers) from QI bring their brand of intelligent, fact-filled comedy in their well known, style. This live version of their weekly podcast lets the audience enjoy the elves outdo each other with weird, silly, or just plain funny facts.
A chance to fill yer boots with some of the most extraordinary, bizarre, and downright funny facts that fans won’t fail to find fabulous.
